Jonah Rosenberg is a composer, musician, sound and multimedia designer based in Brooklyn who creates performances that straddle jazz and free-improvised music, electroacoustic chamber music, installation, theater, performance art and film. His work has been presented at The Public Theater, The Dimenna Center for Classical Music, HERE, Abrons Arts Center, MoMa Ps1, Theater For The New City, Happy Lucky No1, Gibney Dance and many other venues and galleries throughout the US and Canada. Recent film credits include the dance film SEASONED, Documenting Desire - AORTA films and the Documentary Half-Life of Memory. Jonah studied composition with Morton Subotnick, Arturo O'Farrill, Doug Geers and Ray Anderson.

Past chamber works include a multi-media chamber opera "Ode To Jackeen" based on text by Kenneth Patchen which was championed by Ensemble Sans Maitre at the Firehouse Space and FiveMyles gallery, "FOAMINGS" for violin, viola and bass flute composed for andPlay + Martha Cargo as part of their "written for" commission series, and settings of poems by Emily Skillings performance by Charlotte Mundy/Jordan Dodson duo for a NYC residency.

In late 2015 he co-created a collaborative sound, video and performance installation along with violist Joanna Mattrey and video artist Brooke Herr entitled "Connections" based on a piece by Karlheinz Stockhausen which was realized at MoMa Ps1 Printshop as part of the ALL GOLD residency.

He has collaborated with dancers and choreographers, providing scores for Sarah AO Rosner and the AOMC at HERE arts center for AOMC's dance performance 'barrish', Koryn Wicks' TRIPD at the Conservatoire Dramatique of Montreal, and AnA Collaborations at the Gibney Dance: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center.

Jonah has presented chamber music as part of Vicky Chow's 'Contagious Sounds' series at both the Gershwin Hotel and Cornelia Street Cafe, featuring “Welts” for the Heavy Hands Doublebass Quartet and “Ode To Jackeen” for Ensemble Sans Maître.

Work in multimedia theater has included sound scores, and original compositions for playwright/puppeteer/visual artist Claire Moodey for the interdisciplinary works Spectral Findings and <invisible draft> at Dixon Place, the Bushwick Starr and Theater for the New City.

Jonah's piece "ARRAYS" for alto flute and electronics was performed by Martha Cargo at Abrons Arts Center as part of the Electroacoustic Music Festival in 2014.

Upcoming projects include a new work for the Singe String Quartet + Dodson/Mundy duo for strings, guitar, voice and four channel sound.
